Fight back and don’t sign new PMS contracts
Just because the Department of Health has ordered PCTs to bully PMS GPs into signing new and onerous contracts (in a disgraceful 72-page document that clearly reveals the hatred these administrators have for our profession), this does not give PCTs the legal right to make any changes to PMS GP contracts (‘PCTs plunder PMS contracts', pulsetoday.co.uk/news).
GPs who are currently being bullied should refuse to sign new contracts or variations to contracts and instead appeal to the NHS Litigation Authority. Existing PMS contracts cannot be terminated just because a GP refuses to sign a new contract. Resistance is not futile. Fight back, and say no to signing anything.
