Dr Fay Wilson comes in at number 19 in the 2013 Pulse Power 50. She has fallen seven places from last year’s list.
Dr Fay Wilson hit the headlines this year with her radical yet ultimately unsuccessful bid to jointly chair the GPC with Dr Michelle Drage.
GPs told us Dr Wilson is the GPC’s ‘canniest’ member, who ‘garners wide respect’. Another said she was often ‘de facto’ chair of GPC meetings from the floor.
But one said that her failure to speak out on the out-of-hours controversy was a ‘missed opportunity for her to run rings around DH’.
Dr Wilson directs the Badger Group, which provides GP out-of-hours care, prison care and minor surgery in Birmingham.
