Pulse LIVE is taking place in London today and tomorrow, with highlights including a panel discussion on GP unemployment, and a special address from primary care minister Stephen Kinnock.
Pulse editor-in-chief Jaimie Kaffash will lead the workforce debate today, entitled ‘Are unemployed GPs collateral damage of the NHS’s big plans?’, following on from the recent white paper from Pulse publisher Cogora on the recruitment/unemployment crisis.
He will be joined by BMA GP committee deputy chair Dr Samira Anane, Doctors’ Association UK GP spokesperson Dr Steve Taylor, National Association of Sessional GPs chairman and founder Dr Richard Fieldhouse and NHS Confed primary care network chair Professor Aruna Garcea.
Tomorrow, primary care minister Stephen Kinnock will give a speech at the conference and also take questions from the audience.
Pulse editor Sofia Lind will lead the session with Mr Kinnock, asking questions about the impact of the new GP contract and what the dissolution of NHS England might mean for general practice.
Also speaking at the event in the Novotel London West in Hammersmith will be RCGP vice chair for external affairs Dr Victoria Tzortziou Brown OBE, giving the closing keynote tomorrow about the challenges and opportunities with the GP workforce.
Attendees at Pulse LIVE will receive eight hours worth of CPD on clinical topics such as managing endometriosis, chronic pain, type 2 diabetes, overdiagnosis, long Covid, and ADHD.
The conference is also co-located with our sister title Pulse PCN’s conference tomorrow, specifically designed for PCN clinical directors and other senior staff working within PCN teams.
