RCGP chair Dr Clare Gerada has given her first interview after her bicycle accident to a campaign for safer cycling in London.
Dr Gerada gave her support to the London Cycling campaign after she was involved in a traffic accident while riding her bike in central London last week.
Dr Gerada broke her foot during the accident on Blackfriars Bridge in London.
She said: 'I felt exposed – I was trapped between two high-sided vehicles. The next thing I knew the van on the right swerved into me.'
She concluded: 'I hope to get on my bike again in the future, but I'll never use Blackfriars Bridge again.'
