As a founding member of the Grassroots GP website, Dr John Cosgrove was nominated by his peers for his ‘initiative in harnessing the power of social networking platforms’ to give an alternative voice to GPs working at the coalface.
He was a leading voice in the opposition to the controversial dementia case-finding DES this year, warning of the negative impact on patients.
And now he has been elected to RCGP Council, our judges believe this Birmingham GP is likely to be a refreshing voice ‘breaking the mould of the old boys’ club’ when he takes up the position in November.
