This Pulse Plus is on hypertension, it includes articles on blood pressure management, hypertension in younger people and managing episodic and resistant hypertension.
This module will give a GP-focused overview of managing hypertension in primary care, covering:
- Understanding the main non-pharmacological interventions for reducing blood pressure
- Investigating the underlying cause of hypertension
- Managing raised blood pressure in patients under the age of 40
- Investigating and managing patients who's blood pressure is still high, despite taking three antihypertensives
- Diagnosing episodic hypertension, and distinguishing it from white-coat hypertension
This module was first published on 5th May 2010 and was up to date with all key guidelines and evidence at that point. It will be reviewed as part of our routine update cycle by 5th May 2012 but will be updated sooner to reflect any key guideline changes.
