RCGP chair Dr Clare Gerada is recovering in hospital after sustaining minor injuries in a traffic accident this morning.
Dr Gerada was knocked off her bike while cycling in London. An RCGP spokesperson confirmed that she has broken her foot but said she was recovering well.
In messages posted on the social networking site Twitter, Dr Gerada wrote: 'Knocked off bike this am. NHS works. Thanks very much.'
While waiting for a scan, she added: 'I wonder how many NHS resources I am consuming? I am fine. System works. Kindness and efficiency all round.'
