Dear God have we lost our basic instincts – flu vaccs are 45% effective but we are completely sold on them – these C19 vacc are all in the 90’s and all prev viral vaccines have been pretty good at decreasing transmission and have significant viral memory and hence longterm efficacy – Influenza turns over much more rapidly and even so major antigenic changes occur every 60 years or so …. but doom and gloom lets underline what we are not 100% sure of even tho past expience tells us otherwise – death rates will be minimal by June despite the inevitable 3rd wave of largely asymptomatic cases which do NOT lead to hospitalisations and death.
