Dr Vicky Weeks is head of the GPC's recently beefed-up sessional GP subcommittee.
She helped steady the ship following the fallout from the threatened split from the BMA by a disgruntled faction of salaried GPs and locums, and holds an increasingly important role in brokering relations between the different strands of the profession.
Dr Weeks is a salaried GP in Southall, west London.
