Pulse Writing Competition: The patient that taught me

Pulse Writing Competition: The patient that taught me

Our final lot of highly commended entries from our writing competition is ‘The patient that taught me’ category.

These are entries that were written on the theme of ‘That one patient’, but involved cases which made the authors remember why they continue to work in general practice. Whether it was a reminder, a re-evaluation of the role, or an entirely new insight, these patients taught their GPs important lessons that remain with them to this day.

Our three highly commended entries are:

It’s not deep – Dr Toni Munno

The ‘clinic clichés’ that stop us in our tracks – Dr Amrit Kaur Khara

The flicker: one more day – Dr NNV

If you haven’t yet, make sure you read our other highly commended entries for ‘the big ideas’ and ‘gut feelings.’
